Combination of Liberation Therapy And Stem Cell Implantation For Patients With Multiple Sclerosis Chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency (CCSVI), or the pathological restriction of venous vessel discharge from the CNS has been proposed by Zamboni, et al, as having a correlative relationship to Multiple Sclerosis. From a clinical perspective, it has been demonstrated that the narrowed jugular veins in an MS patient, once widened, do affect the presenting symptoms of MS and the overall health of the patient. It has also been noted that these same veins once treated, restenose after a time in the majority of cases. Why the veins restenose is speculative. One insight, developed through practical observation, suggests that there are gaps in the therapy protocol as it is currently practiced. In general, CCSVI therapy has focused on directly treating the venous system and the stenosed veins. Several other factors that would naturally affect vein recovery have received much less consideration.

As to treatment for CCSVI, it should be noted that no meaningful aftercare protocol based on evidence has been considered by the main proponents of the ‘liberation’ therapy (neck venoplasty). In fact, in all of the clinics or hospitals examined for this study, patients weren’t required to …

Robotic Therapy Devices Improve Quality of Life For Stroke Survivors According to a research report featured in Physical Therapy “Stroke is the most prevalent cause of adult-onset disability in the United States. An estimated 5.8 million people who have had a stroke have residual neurological deficits.” At 6 months post-stroke, most individuals recovering from stroke cannot incorporate their affected extremity into daily activities, which is likely to reduce the stroke survivor’s perceived quality of life.

This article will discuss multiple forms of stroke therapy including how robotic therapy devices may be an adjunct or viable alternative to the delivery of intensive repetitive task practice therapy to enhance hand or foot function recovery for stroke survivors.

Repetitive task practice therapy, frequently used in a constraint-induced movement therapy regimen, has been proven to improve hand and foot functions as well as quality of life in stroke survivors. Repetitive task practice consists of breaking down tasks into specific segments. These segments are then practiced individually until they can be successfully completed. Afterward, the patient practices integrating the individual segments into an entire task.

Repetitive task practice therapy has been proven to be successful. However, this therapy is extremely labor-intensive, costly and, unfortunately, can …

Strokes – Symptoms And Therapy The freestyle swimming stroke was thought to have originated in Australia which is partially true. The stroke used to be called the “Australian Crawl” because competitive swimmers from Australia were winning events with this stroke. It is said the freestyle was originally from the pacific islands possibly the Solomon’s.

There is a story which is probably true about a boy from the Solomon Islands who went to work in Australia in the 1800’s. He used to swim in one of the local pools using this stroke and someone pointed out that it looked like he was crawling. A swim coach took the basics of this stroke and refined it to what is the freestyle of today. The Australians were winning races with this stroke and the world took notice.

Stroke Symptoms

A stroke is characterized by significant disruption of the blood flow to the brain which may lead to a decrease in the incoming blood supply. When this happens the brain tissue will be deprived of oxygen and the necessary nutrients. After short while, brain cells will be progressively killed. It is therefore a medical emergency that requires immediate assessment and treatment to improve the …

Stroke Therapy Product Developers Dedicated to Stroke Survivors Have you or a loved one recently suffered a stroke? Are you looking for information about stroke therapy products and their developers? Then you have come to the right place. This article will discuss stroke therapy products and their benefits as well as what to expect from the companies that produce these products.

Stroke therapy products are commonly used in physical therapy and occupational therapy programs where they help to improve the quality of life of stroke survivors.

Neuromuscular rehabilitation is hard work, but stroke therapy products can make it fun. Companies who develop these products have worked very hard at trying to create products that engage patients with interactive games while providing the repetitive motion therapy necessary for recovery. These companies share a goal to improve the quality of life for stroke and other brain injury survivors.

These companies are commonly based on strong relationships with researchers and clinical advisors, scientific research and technology. In many cases, their research has been largely funded by the National Institutes of Health. They have spent years developing and testing robust products based on latest clinical evidence. Their stroke therapy products are based on the …
